The summer of spritz

New season, new mood.  The sunshine is finally here, so dust off your summer clothes, stock up on suncream and come and enjoy a spritz with us! Gloriously spirited, light and refreshing – it’s the most popular drink in Italy for a reason!  With our new Summer of Spritz cocktail menu; including a range of bespoke flavours, it’ll be hard to find one that doesn’t tickle your fancy.

It’s time to say hello to the socially conscious softie that’s packing quite the punch, and it’s fair to say Lemonaid is leading the way when it comes to sustainable drinking.  Made entirely from raw, organic fair trade ingredients,  Lemonaid supports fair trade farming with a 5 pence donation from every bottle purchased in our pubs going to the Lemonaid & ChariTea project to help small-scale farmers all over the world.

Balls and Brunch

Calling all rugby fans, the 2019 Rugby World Cup will soon be gracing the screens of our pubs! With early morning matches, it’s the perfect excuse to grab your team and head down for brunch.   Whether you need a hearty meal to prepare you for a day of cheering ahead, or something lighter and perhaps sweater, our extensive brunch highlights are sure to hit the spot whilst you cheer on your rugby favourites!

What makes our veg so special?

Well, when you know you grow! From the delights of our heritage breed Nutbourne tomatoes, hand grown by Jenny and Gary in the Chichester countryside, a family run business, which has been producing tomatoes for over 40 years, to the wild garlic, nettles and foraged foods of the Norfolk broads by Martin Denny, all the way to our micro herb growers Alan and Sue Miller who swapped 20 years of cheffing to grow their own ingredients, and our 3rd generation of farmers with our Markham Farms Asparagus.

National Piña Colada Day

Summer is officially here, which can only mean one thing.. it’s time to slap on the sunscreen, look for those leis and dig out the floral shirts as we celebrate National Piña Colada Day 2019!   Whilst we can’t guarantee the British weather, we can promise a taste of summer, come rain or shine with a complimentary Piña Colada this July!

Gin this Spring!

 

Whether you’re a botanical boffin or a tad ginger when it comes to gin, it’s impossible not to notice the gin revolution embracing us. Gin has taken the world by storm and with micro distillers popping up quicker than you can order a G&T, ordering the perfect gin can often involve navigating a wealth of self-reflective questions.

With botanicals ranging from the more traditional camomile, orris root, jasmine, lime leaf oil, coriander seed, sage and liquorice root, to the more exotic, seaweed, dragon eye, lotus leaves and frankincense, gin apothecary is a booming business.

How do you know where be-gin? The answer? Taste them of course! It’s a hard job but someone has to do it.

Our chefs take pride in adapting our seasonal British menu inline with locally available produce. This summer you can tuck into a mouthwatering menu of pub classics, fresh fish specials and refreshing salads packed with locally grown vegetables for that lighter, warm weather option.
