Wooden Spoon’s Pass The Plate Initiative
All donations made on August 31st will be going to Wandsworth Food Bank through Wooden Spoon’s Pass the Plate initiative.
The scheme will see Wooden Spoon provide local programmes with monetary donations to help people in these challenging economic times and, will contribute to putting food on the plates of many.
It is clear the continuing rising costs of living is putting extreme pressure on vulnerable families and individuals – with increased numbers of people turning to their local food banks to keep their loved ones fed.
As part of our Self-development program at Young’s, we were excited to get involved in a charity project of our choosing to support Wooden Spoon and the amazing charities under their umbrella.
Our group all felt really passionate about being involved in the local community and with the cost of living crisis affecting more people than ever we knew it was important to do something to raise awareness and fundraise to help. Pass the plate was the perfect option as it works with food banks all over London, including Wandsworth near our head office. With two amazing chefs in our team it was a no-brainer to get them in the kitchen and whip up a feast for the head office teams with a pay-what-you-wish scheme. Our wonderful suppliers donated all the ingredients, we are so grateful to them.
