7 boutique bedrooms to check into this month

On the hunt for a boutique bedroom to bed down in? Well, you’re in luck. We’ve got just the pubs, and just the rooms.

There are beautiful bedrooms in stop-and-go hotspots and restful rooms out on the coast. There are uniquely designed rooms in Georgian townhouses and hotel-y bedrooms in out-of-town country pubs.

And then there’s the touches you’ll find in all these rooms (aside from their fancy design and gorgeous good looks). Honesty bars stocked to the brim with treats and tipples, overflowing snack baskets, all-natural Bramley toiletries and uber-comfy Hypnos beds (so comfy you’ll want to sleep for a million years).

Spread Eagle

Spread Eagle is home to some of the newest bedrooms on the block (well, Wandsworth anyway). This Grade II listed pub had a super-special makeover in 2022 and is now home to twenty-one dreamy boutique bedrooms. Think flirty furnishings, industrial accents and rolltop tubs (in some of the fancier rooms), original features and colour-pop velour headboards.

And downstairs there’s a grand boozer and top-notch restaurant known for hosting snazzy supper clubs.

Pheasant Inn

Pheasant Inn is the perfect out-of-town cosy country pub surrounded by lots of gorgeously green goodness. All rooms here have a nod to their lovely rural roots. It’s all about earthy tones, super-soft headboards, uber-comfy beds and floral-y throws. They really do call for time-out.

And the pub, well it’s a bit special too and is known for being a foodie favourite. It’s won a few awards over the years, too.

No.38 The Park

This Cheltenham hotspot (and fully-fledged hotel) is as gorgeous as she is grand and Georgian. And sits pretty just across from leafy Pittville park.

All thirteen bedrooms here are a bit different. Each individually designed and with a touch of Georgian glory – be it original fireplaces, sky-high ceilings or ornate architrave detailing. There are a handful of rolltop bathtubs to be had, and there’s a one-of-a-kind feature room (No.1) if you’re after something oh-so-special.

The Canford

This perfectly positioned pub in the heart of Canford Cliffs is home to eleven sun-kissed boutique bedrooms. They’re all about colour, character, and a touch of the coast (which is just a few minutes’ walk away). Total chill-out rooms with a touch of warmth and a true love of all things local.

Then there’s the perfect-for-all-occasions pub downstairs. With a lovely bar and light-filled atrium dining room. And postcard-worthy beach huts and tiki huts out in the garden.

The Park

The Park is the prettiest of pubs in the heart of Teddington. And is home to over forty bedrooms (its proper hotel-y). Thirteen of these boutique beauties sit above the pub, where a sprinkling of its gorgeous good looks grace each floor. They’re fabulous and fanciful. Full of character and beauty. With lots of lovely touches.

And the pub downstairs is equally fabulous. With super-high ceilings, lots (and lots) of light, and a glamourous grand bar.

Hort’s Townhouse

Home to Bristol’s newest and best (everyone’s talking about them) boutique bedrooms. Thanks to a mega makeover, nineteen brand-new art-deco style rooms sit above the equally gorgeous new-look pub on Broad Street.

Rooms here are a mix of dark blue and sage green hues, plush fabrics and brushed brass finishes. And lots and lots of oh-so-pretty artwork.

And the pub. It’s big and beautiful. Open plan with an open kitchen and an open welcome.

Dog & Fox

If you know Wimbledon Village, you know Dog & Fox. It’s an icon taking pride of place in the heart of the village.

All twenty-five rooms here are delightfully different. There are cosy rooms and bigger rooms with rolltop tubs. There are rooms with private terraces and people-watching rooms overlooking the village.

And the pub is an all-round wonder, too. With a bar, restaurant, two perfect-for-summer sunny terraces and The Coach House, a perfect-for-all-occasions event space.
