Hampstead pub The Stag gets set to reopen its doors

04 January 2026

Get ready to raise a glass at Hampstead’s local.

The Stag, reopens its doors on 22nd January following a top-to-toe glow-up. Freshened up but reassuringly familiar, everything you love about The Stag remains in play, now joined by a handful of new features including a whole floor dedicated to house parties, a significant upgrade to the expansive garden, an exciting rotating line-up of craft beers on tap and a seasonally changing martini menu.

Inside, the heart of The Stag remains. Still every inch a classic British pub but turned up a notch with carefully restored original features including the signature mounted stags, ornamental mirrors and open fireplaces.

Outside, the pub’s expansive beer garden returns better than ever, with the addition of a dedicated bar to keep pints flowing and outdoor screens for key sporting fixtures, including the Six Nations. The new Garden Room with its cobblestone floors, fireplace and retractable awnings is the perfect party spot for birthdays and family celebrations, come rain or shine.

Behind the bar, expect a stellar selection of craft beers, including five rotating taps from breweries like Pretty Decent Beer, Verdant, and Deya, alongside familiar favourites including Guinness, Asahi and Modelo. For something a little extra, dive into the pub’s seasonally changing martini menu, featuring seven inventive takes on the signature cocktail, from Dirty and Spicy through to a Tomatini.

Hungry? The Stag’s all-day menus will not disappoint with a fresh spin on pub classics. Designed for sharing and inspired by the team’s travels, highlights include a tear-and-share ‘Stag Bag’ (a nod to the Irish spice bag), rotisserie chicken dishes and the locally famous Stag chicken wings. There will also be a decadent lunchtime toastie lineup for those popping by from post-Heath wanders, whilst on Sundays, the roasts are back with selection of premium cuts, slow-cooked to perfection and piled high with an abundance of crispy roasties, larger-than-life Yorkies and plenty of gravy.

Venture to the first floor to find ‘Upstairs at The Stag’, a private event space that feels like hosting a house party without any of the clean-up. Spread across three connected spaces, it’s your own personal playground, with the ‘kitchen’ area complete with vintage fridge and a butcher’s block for food and drinks packages, cosy ‘living room’ for catching up, and a private chequerboard for fresh-air mingling. With its own beer taps and freedom to blast your own tunes or book a DJ, discover the perfect spot for birthdays and celebrations tucked inside the local pub.

Reopening on 22nd January, The Stag is ready to welcome everyone all week long. Walk-ins encouraged and good times guaranteed. Pop in, grab a pint and let the fun begin.
