Say hello to 4 Young’s Rooms newbies

New to Young’s Rooms

We’ve been busy behind the scenes Young’s Rooms-ifying 4 ever-so-lovely pubs with rooms, popping a few all-important finishing touches in place, and we’re ready to shout loud-and-proud, as we welcome them into the family.

They all bring something quirky to the mix, and some are in places we’ve never pub’d before. Exciting, hey?

We’ve dived into Wales for the first time. Bang in the centre of Mumbles Bay, with sweeping sea views. And we’ve headed North. More north than ever, ever before. Right up to North Norfolk’s Burnham Market. And just an hour our from the North Norfolk coastline, we’ve also landed in Norwich – just outside the city centre. Of course, never  shying away from our much-loved London roots, we’ve popped up in leafy Parsons Green.

We’ve really spoilt you. There’s almost 100 bedrooms to catch your fancy with this lot. Seaview rooms. Countrified rooms. Boutique-y rooms. Rooms with more than one room. And apartment-style linger-a-little-longer rooms.

So, without further ado. Let’s have a look…

The Hoste Arms

Burnham Market, Norfolk

This iconic 17th-century coaching inn takes pride of place in the heart of Burnham Market. It’s home to 47 bedrooms, a completely lovable mix of olde-worlde country charm with a touch of classic-modern chic. There’s a gorgeous wood-panelled pub, spa cabin, cinema room and even more bedrooms across the green in Vine House (you could even book all 13 rooms out here for exclusive use of this townhouse). And there’s more. A bright-and-beautiful event space that’s picture-perfect for weddings, a lounge and board-games area, a small-but-handy gym, and Hoste-cycles you can borrow to head out sight-seeing.

Nearby Wells-next-the-Sea and Brancaster beaches are a must-visit when you’re here. As is a visit to Morston Quay where you can catch a boat trip out to Blakeney Point for a seal-spotting trip (you’re practically guaranteed to spot some as it’s home to England’s largest grey seal colony – around 4,500 pups born each year between the end of October and mid-January). Holkham Hall & Estate is another must-see for adventures, with so so much to see and do.

Oyster House

Mumbles, Swansea, Wales

If you’ve been a regularly visitor to The Seagate in the past few years, you might recognise some familiar faces here. Lovable landlords Tony & Sian have taken over the helm, and ready to welcome you with homegrown Welsh charm.

On the edge of Swansea Bay, this much-loved Welsh holiday hotspot is spot-on for an out-of-town stay by the sea and just 10-minutes out from Swansea.  Half its rooms overlook the bay whilst the other half overlook the village, both views as charming as they get.

The pub’s got a bold look and a splash of colour, and you’ll find homemade bitesize Welsh cakes at the bar, and a typical Welsh breakfast on the menu – with sweeping views of the bay from every angle.

Step out front and a stroll along the Gower Coast Path will land you in Mumbles Pier, whilst Oystermouth Castle and Mumbles Hill Local Nature Reserve are a handy few minutes away. Top tip: you can catch all of this (and more) if you set off on their 10.3k 9-point circular walking trail.

Hop in a car back into Swansea and there’s plenty of city spots to delve into. A bit of something for everyone, indeed.

Georgian Townhouse

Norwich

Perched on the edge of Norwich city centre, you’ll find the Georgian Townhouse. This one’s home 35 comfy bedrooms both above and beside the pub. 13 sit just across the road, all apartment-like, perfect for a linger-longer kind of stay. There’s a huge suntrap garden, outdoor Burger Shack and more bookable spaces than you can shake a stick at, from the Pembroke Room, to the Stables, the Scout Hut and the Terrace.

You’ll be perfectly placed for all that this part of Norfolk has to offer. Norwich city centre is just 5-minutes away, with Norwich Cathedral an absolute must-see as you set off for a weary wander. Plantation Garden, one of Norwich’s great treasures is nearby, whilst for water-lovers, a day of boating and kayaking on the Norfolk Broads should be top of the to-do list, with pick-up points along the river Wensum.

Aragon House

Parsons Green, London

In-keeping with our London roots, Aragon House joins us in our hometown. If you’re after an inner London stay but with all the leafy out-of-town feels, then this West London base is spot on. Sitting pretty as a picture overlooking Parsons Green, it’s bursting with character and buzz, and a hands-down local hotspot bursting with a boujee wine list.

Upstairs, this one’s got 15 super-comfy bedrooms, including two bold stand-out rooms with a touch of old-world glamour.  The garden is a big hit in summer thanks to its dedicated garden bar, built-in ice wells and the fan-favourite Oyster Shack.

Perfect as a springboard to explore London, set off for a wander around the ever-so-famous King’s Road for a snoop in and out of its trendy boutiques, designer shops, cafés, art shops and galleries. Or hop on the tube and you’ll be in London in a jiffy (museums are more my thing).
