How we re-brewed Waggle Dance

Welcome back to an old favourite…

We don’t want to make a big deal about it, but to celebrate turning 194 years Young’s, we wanted to do something a little bit special.

So we hatched a plan with the team at King Street Brew House in Bristol.

Drum roll please…..

For the limited edition return of Waggle Dance.

Meet the brewers

King Street Brew House has become something of a Bristolian icon since opening its doors in 2016. Located in the centre of town, this beautiful pub is fit with its very own onsite microbrewery. Led by Head Brewer Simon (who’s been there since day 1!) and GM Wally, they can have up to 16 of their own beers on draught at any time so whatever your tipple, they have you covered. Including Trash, a nearly 5.8% bitter which they have brewed continuously since the very start because well, we all just love it. So you can still have a taste today, nearly 10 years since opening – that’s how good it is.

If you pop down during the week there’s a good chance you’ll see Simon at work, brewing up top sellers Cold Water Lager (4.3%), Joosey Session IPA (4.5%) or one of their many specials (Live, Love, Lager might just be our fave beer name ever). Whilst they started predominantly brewing cask beers, Simon made the decision to pivot to keg which was one of the keys to their success and now they’re just about to serve their 1,000,000th pint.

Welcome back Waggledance

This Young’s Day we’re bringing back Waggledance, our beloved 4% Pale Ale brewed using our very own Young’s honey from the White Bear in Kennington. Similar to our other pale ales in flavour, the introduction of honey adds a sweetness to the brew, balancing out the bitterness and adding a layered roundness to your pint.

At 4%, it’s the perfect addition to your Young’s Day celebrations and will be available on cask for a limited time only, at selected Young’s sites including.

Bath Brew House (Bath), Bath Cider House (Bath), Chequers (Bristol), Highbury Vaults (Bristol), Hort’s Townhouse (Bristol), Lock Keeper (Bristol), Kings Street Brew House (Bristol), Dunstan House Inn (Burnham-on-Sea), Cambridge Brew House (Cambridge), Old Ticket Office (Cambridge), Petersfield (Cambridge), Waterman (Cambridge), Station Tavern (Cambridge), Pontcanna Inn (Cardiff), Seagate (Devon), City Gate (Exeter), Double Locks (Exeter), Old Firehouse (Exeter), Turks Head (Exeter), Grove (Exmouth), White Hart (Ford), Hand in Hand (Wimbledon, London) Lamb Tavern (Leadenhall Market, London), The Alexandra (Wimbledon, London), White Bear (Kennington, London), Spread Eagle (Wandsworth, London), Red Lion (Radlett), St Andrews Brew House (Norwich), Kings Arms (Oxford), Ship Noss Mayo (Plymouth), The Crown in Chertsey (Surrey), The Greyhound Carshalton (Surrey).

Here’s to another 194 years of brewing your favourite beers, to be drunk in your favourite local with all your favourite people. Cheers!
