“How am I supposed to meet someone these days other than online?”
Is this what it’s come down to? Swiping, Scrolling and “LOL’ing” our way to finding “the one”? Well, kind of. But… If we all hate it that much, maybe it’s time to delete the apps and go go back to meeting people (heaven forbid) face to face.
Here are 7 reasons why finding love in a London pub is the way to go in 2020.
ONE: People are Sick of Apps
We’re all sick of the apps. When’s the last time you heard someone say “I love Tinder, it’s awesome!” Exactly. If you don’t like being on them – you don’t have to be on them.
TWO: The Spark
They walk into the pub and everything else just fades into the background whilst “Careless Whisper” by George Michael is playing in the back of your mind. You can’t take your eyes off them. They look at you. Butterflies.
THREE: In Your Element
You head into your local Young’s Pub and you actually get to see someone in their element that clearly has the same amazing taste you do (shameless plug). It’s true though – it’s the perfect place to see what somebody is like in a social situation.
FOUR: It’s a Real Person
I know! Crazy! The person you meet at the pub actually exists. No more wondering how old their picture is or which person out of the 5 in their profile pic they are. Hurrah!
FIVE: F.R.I.E.N.D.S
You’ll most likely be able to meet their friends which is always a good yardstick of what somebody’s really like.
SIX: Events
From Quiz nights to Jenga Dating – there are always cool things happening at your local that you can get involved in whether you go solo or with a bunch of mates
SEVEN: Comfort Zone
We all need to break out of our comfort zone and be a little more bold, right? Going up to somebody shows a lot of character and is such an attractive trait. You never know if you never try.
