i recently visited the white hart and have to admit i really loved it, it is a beautiful pub, with warm friendly staff who always seemed happy and willing to serve even when it was busy, and later on in the evening when they must have been tired. the atmosphere is really enjoyable and the food is delicious. it was raining outside, but that made the oub feel that more homely, a lovely place to go to escape the rain, and if you are lucky enough to have sun, i expect and exceptionally beautiful place to drink.
i am greatly looking forward to visiting again in the near future. maybe with the family this time.

An unparalleled location and charming atmosphere amount to a riverside winner at the . The Venue Nestled against the Thames on the edge of sleepy Barnes with sweeping views up and down the river towards the Chiswick and Barnes Bridges, the location of the White Hart is hard to beat. A balcony with comfy cushioned wicker armchairs, picnic tables on the riverbank and an elevated patio with modern outdoor furniture make great use of the idyllic setting whilst the interior is dominated by a traditional decor of polished dark woods and maroons. The airy space comprises a mix of carpets and floorboards set around an island bar and fireplace with vintage clocks, historic sketches and photographs of the local area providing a homely feel. Upstairs is a large function room that you can reserve for a party with a view. The Atmosphere Guaranteed to be crammed with punters for the famous Boat Race each year, the White Hart is also a popular spot for sun worshippers. When the British summer delivers youll be hard-pressed to find a riverside seat. Themed nights like the Thursday quiz and Monday night poker attract a jovial crowd whilst on weekend afternoons youre likely to find relaxed punters soaking up the view and reading their newspapers. The Food Expect a typical Youngs menu with traditional British specialties in the 8-14 price bracket. Standouts include hand carved Somerset ham with egg and chips, an All Day English breakfast and a baked Portobello mushroom with rocket, beetroot and hazelnut dressing (8.25). Groups should not miss out on ordering the giant pizza board (9.50), an impressive platter of herb bread topped with tomato and red onion sauce, cheddar, roasted peppers, asparagus and rocket. The Drink This is a Youngs pub so expect to find Youngs Special, Youngs Bitter, Wells Bombardier and Blackthorn cider on tap, in addition to more usual brews (Fosters, Kronenbourg, Staropramen and Amstel). Unique bottled choices include Wells Banana Bread beer and the Czech beer Pilsner Urquell alongside Youngs Kew Gold, London Ale and more. A sizeable wine list offers tipples like a fresh and lemony white Rioja (15.60) and an organic Rose (17.70) that goes down nicely on a sunny day. Small glasses on the list range from a reasonable 3.50 to 6.20. The Last Word A great choice of beer and ale and superb location make the White Hart an all-rounder.
