Socialising Responsibly Since 1831

All our lovely pubs are now temporarily closed as we enter Tier 3 & 4 restrictions and turn another page in our 190 year history. Our pub teams are enjoying a well-earned rest with their families whilst we await confirmation of when and how we can re-open in early 2021.

Caring Responsibly

Our team members, when returning to work, must complete a mandatory health screening with daily health declarations also being completed to ensure they remain symptom-free and fit to work. Any team member showing symptoms will be sent home immediately and required to follow Government guidelines before returning to work.

We are participating in the Government’s compulsory NHS Test & Trace as part of the country’s ongoing Covid-19 response and to help keep our pubs open. The contact details of one person will be taken per booking group. Your personal booking data will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy which can be found here.  Your name and phone number may be made available to NHS Test & Trace for 21 days following your visit if requested.

We are actively encouraging our customers to download the NHS Covid-19 app and are displaying the NHS QR codes to allow you to check in on arrival.

We ask that if you or any accompanying persons are showing any symptoms of Covid-19 that you postpone your visit.

Cleaning Responsibly

All our teams have been fully briefed and trained in our enhanced cleaning procedures and the responsibility that they have to their customers and colleagues. High contact points will be sanitised regularly. Hand sanitiser stations are available throughout our pubs and hotels and we request that you use them on arrival and during your time with us.

Distancing Responsibly

We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a safe and social distance throughout our pubs. In line with government guidelines 1m+ social distancing will be observed.  Please keep movement around the pub to a minimum and observe any directional flow promoted by the pub.

We are operating with a reduced number of tables in our pubs and restaurants so that we can adhere to social distancing guidelines. Availability may be limited so you are advised to book ahead. We have extended bookable seating areas into our gardens, providing cover and heaters wherever possible. We are doing our best to accommodate as many people wishing to visit as it is safe to do so. You may be allocated a table for a limited time slot, please be happy to move on when asked.

Welcoming Responsibly

Our pubs will only be offering full table service, inside and out. On arrival, our host will show you to your table. In accordance with the government regulations, we require all customers to be wearing a face-covering when visiting our pubs and restaurants, unless seated at a table to eat and drink.

In line with Tier 2 Government regulations we are only able to offer alcoholic drinks with a substantial meal. We are adhering strictly to Government regulations on household get-togethers and we ask that our guests adhere to these regulations. From Wednesday 2nd December 2020 we will be limiting bookings inside our pubs to no more than one household and one support bubble as well as business dining. You are welcome to join us in our gardens and outdoor areas for tables of up to six people from multiple households. We will do everything to remind our customers of their responsibilities, so please do not be offended if we ask for confirmation of your address status.

Serving Responsibly

We will be following the Government’s mandatory face mask regulation and all customer-facing staff will be wearing face masks in our pubs. Your table will be sanitised ahead of your arrival and all cutlery and glasses brought to you. Your food and drinks will be brought to your table by your dedicated server. We ask that for the current time, you pour your own drinks where appropriate to minimise contact.

Ordering Responsibly

Please download our Young’s On Tap app here and register in advance of your visit. This will enable a reduced contact experience during your visit to browse our menus, order & pay. Single-use menus will also be available and your dedicated team member available to take your order using our tablets should you prefer.  Please note that in line with Government opening times regulations, last orders for food and drink must be placed by 10pm, however, we will not be closing until 11pm.

Paying Responsibly

To reduce unnecessary handling of cash, the vast majority of our pubs are accepting card and On Tap payments only. Sorry no cash.

Gifting Responsibly

We have extended the validity of all Gift Vouchers issued prior to 1st July 2020 to 6 months so you will still be able to use them when you are ready to visit.

Staying Responsibly

All our  hotels are temporarily closed in line with Tier 3 & 4 regulations.

We are only able to accept bookings from one household at the current time. This applies to guests when staying or dining with us until further notice. We ask our guests to please wear a face-covering in reception, whilst walking to and from your room and throughout our pub and restaurant. Face coverings may be removed whilst seated at a table to eat and drink.

Our restaurants are operating with reduced seating capacity meaning availability may be limited. Please be sure to book your table ahead of your visit using our On Tap app or website. We’ll take full payment on arrival for your hotel stay. This will enable a contactless check-out. Please use Young’s On Tap to pay for food & drink during your stay. We are only able to host drinks with food in our pub and restaurant, this includes our gardens. Room service is available for drinks with or without food throughout your stay. Please ask at reception.

Our rooms will be thoroughly sanitised before, during and after your stay. We have introduced a reduced housekeeping contact experience during your stay, with stays of more than one night receiving a daily refresh pack. We will, of course, provide a daily clean on request. High touchpoints throughout our hotels and pubs will also be regularly sanitised throughout your visit. We have removed any unnecessary items from your room to help keep you safe. All our towels and linen are washed at 80 degrees centigrade and refreshed daily. In the absence of our breakfast buffet, please make your selections with your server and we’ll bring everything to you.

We ask that if you are travelling from an area that has been categorised as very high alert or stay at home, Tier 3 or 4, that you postpone your visit unless you are travelling for work or other exempted reasons. Please see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-3-very-high-alert or https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home

Please postpone your visit if you or any accompanying guests show any symptoms of Covid-19 ahead of arrival or are required to quarantine.

We look forward to welcoming you back responsibly.
