The Mitre is now under new management (from March 2010).
Until 1861 the owners of the Mitre were the Richmond Church Charities Trust so this may be where its name came from. It is not known whether or not the lovely windows depicting a bishops mitre and crook are original.
This traditional local pub serves an excellent range of Young's cask ales and has a sunny decked area to the front and enclosed patio garden to the rear.
