Dolphin Inn
The Street, Betchworth, Surrey. RH3 7DW
T: 01737 842288   E: dolphin@youngs.co.uk

17th Century pub with stone floors, inglenook fireplaces and gaslights. No TV, music or machines - just conviviality, fine ales and superb freshly prepared food. The Dolphin is in the Surrey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, one of 39 such designated areas in the United Kingdom. It is surrounded by walking trails, both flat and hilly, with extensive views of the North Downs, River Mole and beautiful Surrey countryside. Opposite The Dolphin lies a 15th century operating forge and St Michael's Church, which featured as the first church in the hit film, Four Weddings and a Funeral. So The Dolphin is not just a great pub serving wholesome, rustic fayre, but lies in a beautiful area with lots to do. Chef and manager Ron's steak and kidney and game pies are firm favourites and he is always coming up with dishes for the specials' board. We are proud to be pooch friendly and welcome families.

J Boon - Great food & atmosphere!
24/08/2010
Whilst visiting friends nearby last sunday, we decided to go for lunch at "The Dolphin" i had not been for a ages & i remember not being very impressed with it before, but i had heard it had new managers & a new chef so i thought we should give it a go!! I have to say i was pleased we did! It was reasonably busy & we were made to feel welcome by the Barman when we arrived. We were seated straight way, we all had roasts except for one who had a salad. The roasts were well presented & very tasty. Itwas nice to see a pub still using completely fresh veg & not buying it in!! (yes.. i had to ask!). My Partners chicken mango salad Looked fantastic too..We finished with desserts which were also homemade. So would i return? Most definately!! Well done to the managers & staff at teh dolphin!! Top marks!!

I highly recommend this pub. Visited last Saturday and found the atmosphere very relaxing and welcoming. The staff are efficient and friendly and the food is delicious. They are also dog-friendly and in a rural setting - it all makes for a great trip out!!

This is a lovely old pub, been here a few time for food, absolutely great.....if you can just ignore the locals that seem to take up their place at the bar (even though they have theirdrinks) and of course the odd stare fromthem stating ....'Your not from round these parts !' Popular with the old smokers (outside of course !) worth a visit - just to scare the locals few at the bar !!!!

Alastair Brent - Bonfire Night Brilliance

I had a great time in here on the Bonfire Night just gone. With Brockham Bonfire just a mile away, it was bound to be crammed but Angela and Ron were happy to reserve me a table for 10 for my girlfriend's birthday. They are their staff were rushed off their feet all night but were always courteous, friendly and professional. Big bonus was "Dr Mark", a fun reggae guitarist who supplied his largely sauced audience with shakers and rattlers to get a great atmosphere going well into the evening. I should probably mention here that the beer was also in excellent condition (Youngs, Special and a few others). Great stuff.
