Within walking distance of Twickenham, on the banks of the Thames, in Strawberry Hill, The Alexander Pope is the perfect place to eat, drink and stay – from meeting friends after work, to a long, lazy Sunday lunches or a relaxing overnight stay in one of our 32 stunning boutique bedrooms. The large and impressive modern pub that was the ‘Pope’s Grotto’ takes its name from the poet Alexander Pope (1688-1744), who had a house on the banks of the Thames near the site of the hotel.
The Alexander Room ,with its private terrace, is ideally suited to parties, small family gatherings and corporate events. Fully air conditioned and with lots of natural light it’s the perfect setting for any occasion. For the less formal ‘get together’ ask us about the various areas available within the pub, including both our dining area and beautiful glass atrium. Our events co-ordinator would be delighted to meet with you and chat through the options.

A great little pub come restaurant within a stones throw of central Twickenham whilst also being far enough not to be overcrowded like the other pubs in the town. A must visit for luxury travellers.
Chose this place as it was recommended by other friends and we went for cocktails and sharers after work on Friday. A perfect location, and you can even sit outside in the front garden. We sat in the atrium and had table service which was excellent. Good size portions and nice ciders. Hope to make it a regular monthly stop.
